Course Descriptions:
|
Thai Yoga Massage - 2 day introduction
- (12 hour) 12 CEU's.
- The Lotus Palm School is a category "A" provider approved by the
NCBTMB.
This is an invaluable introductory course; however, students are
not required to take this course prior to the 5-day Intensive I
course. You will learn to:
- Perform a basic full body, one hour Thai Yoga Massage session
- Incorporate the fundamentals of effortless, flowing transitions
between postures
- Integrate key stances within Thai Yoga Massage
- Apply safety precautions for preventing injury
- Integrate Metta (love and kindness) and meditation into your
practice

Thai Yoga Massage Intensive 1
- (30 hours) 30 CEU's
- The Lotus Palm School is a category "A" provider approved by the
NCBTMB.
You will learn:
- How to perform a full-body, 1 1/2 hour Thai Yoga Massage session
- The fundamentals of effortless, flowing transitions between
postures
- Safety precautions for preventing injury and incorrect posture
of the practitioner
- Key stances within Thai Yoga Massage
- The history and philosophy of Thai Yoga Massage and the relationship
between this art and the ancient healing system of Ayurveda.
- How to apply pressure to the Thai energy lines to balance the
energy
- How to integrate "Metta"(loving kindness) & meditation into
one's practice.

Thai Yoga Massage Intensive 2
- (30 hours) 30 CEU's for each of these courses.
- The Lotus Palm School is a category "A" provider approved by the
NCBTMB.
- Prerequisite: Intensive I from me or one of the Lotus Palm School
teachers.
Review of postures, stances & flowing transitions as taught in
the Intensive I course and learn how to:
- Perform an expanded 2 1/2 hour Thai Yoga Massage with advanced
postures
- Evaluate the needs of the recipient and customize the massage
according to different body types, pregnancy and the elderly,
general needs and/or preferences
- Integrate alternate postures and exchange them with standard
poses to create a customized 1 1/2 hour Thai Yoga Massage session
- Achieve effortless, flowing transitions between postures
- Apply basic concepts of the Thai energy line system in the work
- Incorporate fundamental methods for avoiding contraindications
- Integrate "Metta" (loving kindness) and meditation into the
work

Ayurveda & Thai Yoga Massage 1
-(30 hours) 30 CEU's NCBTMB category "A" approved
This course introduces you to the fundamentals of Ayurveda, the
ancient Indian healing system and sister science to yoga. This course
bridges Thai Yoga Massage with its historical roots in Ayurveda
and students learn practical methods of combining these healing
arts to deepen the therapeutic quality of their practice.
This course teaches you a 60 minute tridoshic massage Thai Yoga
Massage form with variations for each doshic (elemental) type (vata
=air/ether, pitta= fire/water, or kapha= earth/water). Furthermore,
you will have an understanding of:
- The fundamental concepts of Ayurvedic history, philosophy and
healing
- The use of observation and interviews to determine an individual's
tridoshic composition
- How to integrate the five directions of prana (vayus) into
Thai Yoga Massage
- How to create a customized 2-session Thai Yoga Massage wellness
program according to the tridoshic principle of each client
- Incorporate the fundamentals of effortless, flowing transitions
between postures
- Maintain proper body alignment & stances that create a mutually
beneficial massage for practitioner & recipient
- Integrate "Metta" (compassion) and meditation into your work

Ayurveda
& Thai Yoga Massage Foundations 2 day introduction
--(prerequisite:
This class is open to all students from any school)
- (12 hour) 12 CEU's.
- The Lotus Palm School is a category "A" provider approved by the
NCBTMB.
Ayurveda is India's ancient healing system that promotes health
through a balanced life-style.
Thai Yoga massage integrates yoga postures and bodywork in a flowing
dance encouraging a deep state of relaxation and well- being.
After completing this course, students will:
• Understand the basic elements of
Ayurveda including the 5 elements and 3 doshas and their attributes
• Be able to perform a 30 minute Thai Yoga
massage form
• Be able to integrate Ayurvedic
principles into their massage
• Know how to practice with flowing
transitions and proper body mechanics
